What does the $10K/month revenue number actually mean?
That's a realistic first-year target for a hospitality venue or retailer doing $500K+/year in total revenue. The math: a $3,500 starter humidor turning every 60 days at 50% margin, plus menu-driven add-on revenue, lands in the $10-15K/month range for most venues. Some hit it in month 3. Some take 6 months. It's a realistic 12-month target, not a guaranteed instant result.
How much inventory do I need to commit to upfront?
Most starter programs range from $2,500 to $5,000 in opening inventory. That's it. No pallet minimums. No volume commitments. No second-order obligation. The no-risk exchange means even that starter commitment is de-risked - if the mix doesn't work, we swap it for one that does.
What if my staff says no to selling cigars?
That's a common worry and rarely a real problem. The training covers cigars as an upsell category paired with existing products (whiskey, cognac, wine). Most staff come out of training excited because cigars are higher-ticket add-ons that drive bigger tips. If your staff's resistance turns out to be real, we'll tell you during the discovery call whether cigars are the right move.
Do I need to get a tobacco license?
Requirements vary by state. Some states require only a general retail license; others require a specific tobacco license. We'll walk through your state's requirements on the discovery call and point you at the right filing. The licensing is typically a $50-$300 one-time step - not a barrier.
What if the program doesn't work at my venue?
We tell you on the discovery call whether we think cigars are right for your floor. If after 90 days the program isn't selling through at the projected pace, the no-risk exchange rebuilds the mix and we run another 60 days. If it's still not working after that, that's a venue/clientele fit issue - not a program issue - and we'll say so honestly. Most starter programs get to breakeven in month 3 and to the $10K/month target in months 4-6.
How fast can I have my humidor stocked and open?
Typical timeline: 48 hours from discovery call to written proposal, 48 hours from proposal acceptance to first shipment, humidor stocked and menu printed inside 7-10 days total. Staff training scheduled alongside. If you already have a humidor, we can sometimes turn this faster. If you need to source one, add 2-3 weeks.
